Workshop Creator & Speaker, Young Women in STEM Day, The National Museum of Computing, UK

I created and delivered a 30 minute in-person interactive machine learning workshop and tech career Q&A session for 120 11-16 year old students as part of The National Museum of Computing’s Young Women in STEM Day. I did this at The National Museum of Computing – The Hub and ran 6 sessions of 20 students each throughout the day.

The workshop brings excitement to Machine Learning concepts through Teachable Machine, a Google Initiative, which is a web-based tool that makes creating machine learning models fast, easy, and accessible to everyone.

Assistant Instructor, 2-Day Git & Github Workshop, Project By Tech Skills Workshops

Zahra Waheed and Katie Sanderson were Lead Instructors. They designed and developed a 2-Day Git & Github Workshop for our Tech Skills Workshops group. I helped out as an Assistant Instructor alongside Shannon Farvolden.

We delivered our inaugural workshop to the tech community at Codebar in June 2021, where participants received a certificate of completion.

Workshop Content Creator & Co-Lead Instructor, Building Your First React App With Data From An API, Project By Tech Skills Workshops

Alongside my Co-Lead Instructor, Shannon Farvolden, we designed and developed a ‘Building Your First React App with Data From An API’ workshop. This workshop is part of our Tech Skills Workshops group.

We delivered our workshop to the international tech community at Codebar as part of their inaugural Codebar Festival in March 2021, a 3-day free conference on tech, career and wellbeing.

Workshop Content Creator & Co-Lead Instructor, Intro to HTML/CSS: Build Your First Website Workshop, Project By Tech Skills Workshops

Over a few weeks, I worked alongside my Co-Lead Instructor, Shannon Farvolden and Assistant Instructors (Zahra Waheed and Katie Sanderson) to develop our own HTML/CSS workshop from scratch. We used mob programming to generate the content, curate, plan and deliver the workshop. The positive feedback received from attendees solidified our mission to provide accessible workshops to all and we continue to deliver this workshop for free to the tech community internationally.

Spring/Summer 2020 – Autumn/Winter 2020

Fellowship Program Mentor, Recipe for Marketing Your Authentic Self (Tech Edition) Workshop, Collaboration with Code First Girls

I independently created and delivered a one-hour group workshop to equip attendees with ideas for self-reflection, goal-setting and confidence-building, as well as strategies for marketing and self-promotion.

Python Coding Instructor, Introduction to Python Programming Course, Delivered for Code First Girls

As a volunteer Python Coding Instructor, I helped to deliver the free Code First Girls Introduction to Python Programming Course: A beginner-friendly 8-week course to help students learn the fundamentals of programming through problem-solving in Python.
